The next Final Fantasy game on the horizon isn’t Final Fantasy VII Remake – it’s actually the mobile exclusive War of the Visions: Final Fantasy Brave Exvius. The game has been out in Japan for a couple of years, but pre-orders have gone live for the Western version. And we can now confirm the game will be out on March 25th.
Where the original Final Fantasy Brave Exvius focused on simplified battles to make it more mobile friendly, War of the Visions features a much more in-depth tactical battle system. Anyone who’s played the game would say it’s reminiscent of Final Fantasy Tactics. That’s probably where the War of the Visions subtitle comes in – the re-release of FFT was known as War of the Lions.
You can get a better feel for the game by checking out the trailer we’ve embedded below.
There’s a massive story here, involving warring kingdoms and the titular Visions. They’re warriors drawn into the world by a magical ring. There are also going to be appearances from other Final Fantasy characters, so expect a lot of collecting as you play.
You’ll also be able to unleash Espers – super strong monsters that can do huge damage. Anyone familiar with the Final Fantasy series will be excited to know that fan-faves Ifrit and Ramuh are along for the ride as Espers.
There are pre-registration rewards that get more impressive the more people sign up. If you’re interested in the game it’s well worth letting Square know.
