Surviving the apocalypse seems to be de rigueur in gaming circles nowadays. Undawn is set to bring more of that to mobile, charging players with surviving the dual threats of shambling zombies and other players in order to re-dawn the un-dawn, we imagine.
Developed by members of the team behind PUBG Mobile, the game is an open world experience that sees you needing to craft, build, scavenge and band together in order to avoid being overwhelmed by the undead hordes. Sounds pretty good.
The game is built with the Unreal Engine, and it looks like it’s going to be pretty darn gorgeous. The world is set to be enormous, and it’ll combine both PvE and PvP into a heady, action-packed survivalist mix.
“With Undawn, we wanted to create a new type of action game that combines open-world freedom with RPG elements that would completely redefine the genre, regardless of platform,” said Rick Li, Executive Producer at Lightspeed & Quantum Studios, Tencent Games in a press release.
“The fact that we created such an amazing experience for mobile and PC platforms means that even more players around the globe will be able to survive the apocalypse together, creating the potential for a huge new type of open world experience.”
