Thronebreaker: The Witcher Tales is a Single Player Gwent RPG That’s Out Now

Gwent, the card game from the Witcher universe, has been out on mobile for a while now. But if you’re not a fan of multiplayer card games, you might have found it a bit lacking. Not to worry though, because Thronebreaker takes the mechanics of the game and turns it into a fantastic single player RPG.

Thronebreaker: The Witcher Tales has been out on PC and console for a year or so now, but it’s finally made its way to the App Store. The game has a massive, brilliantly written story that’s going to last you about 25 hours.

That story focuses on a northern queen called Meve. There’s a Nilfgaardian invasion to contend with, as well as plenty of other twists and turns. You’ll meet a whole bunch of interesting characters along the way, and the story really is good enough to keep you intrigued the whole time.

The launch trailer we’ve embedded above should give you some idea of what to expect. This isn’t some half-hearted attempt at cashing in on the success of The Witcher – it’s a fully fledged experience that builds on that exciting and dangerous world.

All of this is going to cost you though. Thronebreaker: The Witcher Tales is a premium release and you’ll need to pay $9.99 to pick it up. We reckon it’s definitely worth it though.
