Are you tired of the same old gameplay model appearing time and time again in iOS Action RPGs? Pixel and Texel feel the same way, and their aim is to usher in something quite different with their upcoming genre entry, "Fara!"
With a unique combat system, a luscious presentation and plenty of content to back it up, I still find it hard to believe "Hero's Way" is free to play. Except in one respect -- the developer definitely needs to re-evaluate the game's grindfest approach to challenge!
For our latest interview we fired some questions at Morgan Jaffit of Defiant Development. If you're keeping tabs on iOS Action RPGs, you'll recall Defiant's pre-alpha footage of "Quick Quest," which surfaced in late July; but the impression we came away with is that it doesn't matter what your favorite platform is -- you need to keep an eye on this promising indie dev from Down Under!
Tasty Poison Games' and Crescent Moon's "Pocket RPG" keeps its features surprisingly close to the vest. To find its juiciest morsels, you have to treat it just like the many monsters roaming its dungeons -- make it yield up its goodies with brute force!
Spring may be the season when love is in the air, but Fall is the time for iOS sales. So let's see those leaves fall and celebrate Labor Day, baby! So many sales are taking place on the App Store it's not even funny, making this the biggest iFriday Roundup yet. Be sure to check the second page for updates and news, as well as a writing contest from SEGA of America!
Stop the presses -- "Emissary of War" is going for a buck now!? Hardcore RPG fans will find it short and its gameplay lightweight, but its story and production values are difficult to pass up at this lowered price tier. If you're an RPG fan of any stripe, you are definitely advised to check out the freely downloadable first half at least.
With a slick four-viewpoint system, a gorgeous presentation, and a user interface that builds on the standard set by "Fantastic Knight" going for it, Minoraxis' "Exitium" is a product KRPG fans will definitely want to sink their teeth into. Provided, of course, that they haven't tired of the genre's fetch quests, where "Exitium" has shifted into high gear and gone straight into overkill mode.
Foursaken Media does it again! Just like the original "Bug Heroes," their newest is deep, content-packed and brimming with fun. The expanded story and huge environments this time around certainly don't hurt either! "Bug Heroes Quest" is a must-have for iDevice-owning Action RPG fans, but its appeal extends well beyond the genre.
A beat 'em up where you play as a dude who looks just like Bruce Lee? That's about all it will take to sell some folks on "KungFu Warrior," so it's a good thing this one has a slick gameplay system and content in spades to back up the magnetic draw of its premise.
How can we possibly top a giveaway for an awesome experience like "Dream:scape"? Hmm...how about following it up with a giveaway for another "Fantastic" iOS game? If you're a KRPG fan you can rest assured that "Fantastic Knight" lives up to its title. Inside you can find out why, and how to score a copy of the game for free thanks to the generous folks at Minoraxis!
