Surreal Adventure Game The Unfinished Swan has Landed on the App Store

This one’s a nice surprise. Giant Sparrow and Annapurna Interactive have released The Unfinished Swan on iPhone and iPad. It’s a beautiful, bizarre adventure and we reckon it’s well worth your time.

The game originally came out for PS3, before making it to the PS4 and PS Vita not long after. It’s the story of a young man named Monroe. The titular swan wanders out of a painting, and it’s up to you to try and figure out why.

You do that by splodging black paint onto an all-white background. That reveals what’s going on underneath and pushes the story along. New levels offer new mechanics and new ways to explore the strange world.

There’s a whole host of intriguing and sometimes dangerous characters to meet, and lots to discover about the king who created the world you find yourself in. You can check out the trailer below to get a better idea of what to expect.

Giant Sparrow is the developer behind What Remains of Edith Finch. That should give you some idea of what to expect – strange happenings, a deeply intriguing narrative and an experience that’s going to leave you thinking long after it’s finished.

You can grab The Unfinished Swan from the App Store right now by clicking here. The game will set you back $4.99, but there’s more than enough here to warrant that price tag.
