SteamWorld Quest is a Gorgeous Card-Based RPG, Out Now

SteamWorld Quest: Hand of Gilgamech has just landed on the App Store. The latest game in Image and Form’s diverse SteamWorld series, this one sees you leading a group of heroes through a world that’s a mix between steampunk and fantasy, building a deck of cards to take on hordes of enemies.

The game looks gorgeous, with a unique art style that really pops off the screen. There’s a rich vein of humor running through the experience as well, as you’d expect from Image and Form. There are more than 100 cards to use to build your deck, and a lot of them involve punching things in the face in magnificent ways.

The scraps here are turn-based, so you’re going to have to think tactically, make the most of the cards you’ve got and figure out the strengths and weaknesses of the monsters that you’re battling against.

There’s loads of loot to collect, plenty of gold to win and XP to use to upgrade your characters. Basically there’s everything you’d want from a card-based RPG. This is the sort of game that’s going to eat up hours of your life in the best possible ways.

Click here and you can grab SteamWorld Quest from the App Store right now. The game will set you back $9.99, which might sound pretty expensive but you’re getting a lot of bang for your buck. Plus, that’s less than you’ll be paying for the game on Steam of Switch, which is pretty darn good.

Have you already played the game? Fancy sharing your experiences? Maybe you’d just like to wax lyrical about the price? Whatever the case, let us know in the comments section at the bottom of the paragraph.
