The latest game based on the Beast Quest series of books has just landed on the App Store. It’s called Beast Quest Ultimate Heroes and it’s a tower defence title. The game sees you building towers to protect the world of Avantia from evil. Sounds pretty cool, right?
If you’ve ever played a tower defence game, you know what to expect here. Enemies walk along a set route, with the aim of destroying your crystal. You need to build towers along that route to try and stop them. You’ve also got a hero, who can run around and cause chaos if you use them right.
Different towers have different strengths and weaknesses. For example some freeze attackers, while others deal massive damage. You’ve got spells to use as well, which can mash up massive numbers of attackers in a single fell swoop.
Fans of the book series are going to absolutely love what’s on offer here. Every character is pulled directly from the pages of one of the novels, and collecting them all is a lot of fun. The gameplay is just the right side of tactical, and there’s always a challenge to complete or an army to force back.
On top of all of that, Beast Quest Ultimate Heroes looks absolutely gorgeous. It’s in 3D, and there’s a pop and a snap to the visuals that make the game really difficult to take your eyes off.
