Any game that tries to capture the sheer glee of playing Worms for the first time is good by us. And one that mixes together ideas from battle royale games and gravity-based platformers is going to be even gooder by us. So, yeah – Rocket Bot Royale looks pretty sweet.
It’s developed by a team of ex-Noodlecake veterans and sees you driving a cute little cartoon tank. A cute little cartoon tank with some massive weaponry that you need to use to blast your foes to smithereens.
Not just your foes, though. You’re driving around on a series of island planets that are falling into the sea. You can blow those up too. There’s an awful lot of blowing things up here and boy are we into that. Here’s a trailer so you can get the gist of what to expect.
Look at all those lovely explosions! You’ll be unlocking new weapons and other perks as you play so you can customize and toughen-up your tank. And then fighting it out to be the last tank standing. Or, if you’re anything like us, accidentally blasting yourself into the sea before you’ve even seen another player.
