Professor Layton and the Lost Future Coming to iPad and iPhone Next Week

If you’ve been waiting for more Layton to land on the App Store, then we’ve got some good news for you. Professor Layton and the Lost Future, the third game in the franchise, is launching on July 13th.

The game first came out around 10 years ago, and this is the first time you’ll be able to play it on non-Nintendo hardware. You might know it by another name as well – in certain territories it was known as Professor Layton and the Unwound Future.

Whatever name it goes by, you can expect a whole bunch of mind-bending puzzles, a mysterious story that gets more interesting the deeper you go, and a lovely art style that’s going to leave a big smile on your face.

The trailer above might be a little old, but it’s going to give you a good idea of what to expect when the game comes out. The story revolves around a time machine that explodes, a strange letter and a lost love. All presented in that wonderful Layton style.

We don’t have any word on the price yet, but judging by the other games in the series you should be expecting to pay about $9.99 for this one when it lands. The game will be pruned and preened so it works perfectly on mobile though, so we reckon that’s a fair price.

You can get more information on the game by clicking here and checking out the official Layton website.
