Pixboy is a platformer rendered in chunky old school pixels, like a Gameboy-game reimagined in the palm of your much more modern hand. It’s just landed on the App Store, and we reckon you should be seriously considering downloading it right this second.

The game is spread out across 40 hand-crafted levels. There are four different worlds, and four bosses to try and take down at the end of each of those worlds. You’re going to have to have your wits about you if you want to win, as well.

Throw in a load of different enemies, a massive number of hidden rooms and four challenges for you to complete on every level, including a speed run one. There’s even an achievement for getting through the game without killing any of the foes that get in your way.

We’ve embedded a trailer below to give you an idea of what to expect when you download the game. We think you’ll agree it looks pretty darn impressive, in a 90’s sort of a way.

You can download Pixboy from the App Store right this second by clicking here. The game will set you back $2.99, and we reckon that’s a pretty fair price to pay for everything that you’re getting.

What do you think? Is Pixboy the sort of game you like to play? Maybe you’ve already given it a spin and want to wax lyrical? Whatever the case, make sure you let us know in the comments section below.
