If you’ve got a hankering for some old-school dungeon crawling with a modern twist, but you’ve only got slightly less than a dollar to spend, today’s your lucky day. Why? Because the excellent Legend of Grimrock currently ticks all of those boxes.
The game sees you controlling a ragtag bunch of prisoners who’ve been sentenced to die in Mount Grimrock. Cue working your way through the caverns and dungeons to try and find a way out. That’s much easier said than done, though.
The mountain is filled with traps, puzzles, monsters and other terrifying creatures. You’re going to need your wits about you if you want to get out. Here’s a trailer that shows off a little bit of what you can expect.
There’s a good heap of game to sink your face into here, and it even offers an option to turn the auto-mapping off, leaving you to plot your own progress on grid paper, if that’s the sort of thing that you’re into.
