OMG, iOS Games Gone Free: Great Little War Game HD, Judge Dredd vs Zombies, Mole Kart and More!

In this brand spanking new daily news segment team iFanzine will be trawling the virtual aisles of the App Store and tracking down the most awe-inspiring free games so you don’t have to. Our promise to you, dear readers: if this article doesn’t make you exclaim “OMG!” at least once, heck, we’ll give you your money back! 😉

‘OMG, iOS Games Gone Free’ will run from Monday through to Thursday, and on Fridays freebie-lovers are well advised to check out Sean Koch’s iFriday Roundup when, in addition to covering the latest sales, notable new updates and other intriguing tidbits of iOS gaming-related news, he does a great job of highlighting the sort of free games that are likely to keep you busy all weekend long.

Anyhoo, without further ado, here are the contents of my shopping basket after today’s shopping spree…

Great Little War Game HD by Rubicon (RRP: $1.99): Just as the title implies, this is a great little game that plonks you in the thick of a raging war for some outrageously entertaining and delightfully cartoonish TBS action.

Judge Dredd vs Zombies by Rebellion (RRP: $0.99): 2000AD’s futuristic super cop Judge Dredd takes on legions of the undead and snarls catchphrases like “I am the law” and “Drokk it!” quite a bit in this stylish, action-stuffed twin-stick shooter.

Shake Spears! by Alawar Entertainment, Inc (RRP: $0.99): I could wax lyrical about how special Shake Spears is ’til the cows come home, but perhaps you should simply check out our 5 star review from back in July. And then excitedly give the game a free download, of course.

Rope’n’Fly 2 By Robert Szeleney (RRP: $0.99): This seriously addictive endless sidescroller sees you playing as a destructible ragdoll and swinging from skyscaper to skyscraper in search of a dizzyingly huge high score. A whole lotta high-flying fun.

Mole Kart By Shanghai Taomee Network Technology Co.,Ltd. (RRP: $2.99): Mario Kart by any other name. Ninty’s legions of lawyers are no doubt sharpening their pencils as we speak, so if you fancy taking this one for a free test drive, I’d say do so sooner rather than later. Hugely unoriginal but reasonably entertaining all the same.
