A couple of months ago, Webzen announced that it would be holding a closed beta for MU Origin 2, its highly anticipated MMORPG sequel.
What with that, and the results that followed it, and the release date announcement that followed that, the game has been making headlines for a pretty good portion of 2019. But this is the big one.
At long last, MU Origin 2 is available to download.
Like its predecessor, MU Origin 2’s journey began all the way back in 2001, when Korean MMORPG MU Online hit the web. Over the course of the last 18 year the franchise has established itself as a heavy hitter in the RPG sphere.
This time around the game sees you taking on the Demon God Kundun and his legions of evil demons. Your mission: to restore peace and harmony to the MU continent, which has had just about enough conflict at this point.
You can choose to be a Dark Knight, a Dark Wizard, or an Elf, with the Dark Wizard proving by far the most popular in the closed beta. The gameplay involves forming parties and taking them into dungeons for a spot of bloody conquest, among other things.
The truth about battle cats and war dogs
Fans of the series will know what to expect. You’ll be joined in battle by a killer pet, whose sole aim in life is to tear your enemies’ throats out. Plus, you’ve have a mount to carry you from location to location – you’ll appreciate this service when you get a look at the size of the MU continent.
As you explore the game’s vast world you’ll complete quests, do guild stuff, get into 1v1 fights and team battles, and all of the stuff you’d expect from a top flight MMORPG.
It’s likely that MU Origin 2 will follow in the footsteps of its predecessor and grow exponentially over the months through content updates. But it’s already looking like a solid sequel, with improved visuals, streamlined gameplay, and a general coat of polish.
