It’s always a good day when there’s a new Neutronized game available on the App Store. So, today is a good day. That’s because you can pick up the pretty darn excellent platformer Mimelet from the App Store right now.
The game is a pretty simple platformer with an interesting power-stealing twist. Bounce on an enemy and you’ll unlock its skills, letting you access parts of the level you couldn’t get to before. Clouds let you jump higher, electro-monsters let you get past certain blocks, that sort of thing.
It turns each level into a sort of mini metroidvania puzzle. You need to work out which powers you need, when you’re going to need them and how you can get them. And it’s an awful lot of fun, even if the game’s a little short.
The controls are slick and easy to use, and the game has that distinct Neutronized visual and audio charm. It’s a great way to spend a couple of hours, and you’re going to have a smile on your face for most of that time.
