Machinarium Developer Amanita Designs Announces Phonopolis

Amanita Designs has made some of the very best modern point and click adventures. Don’t believe us? Check out Machinarium, the Samorost series or Botanicula, then come back here with egg on your face. So it should come as no surprise that the announcement of a new Amanita game is received with cheers here at iFanzine.

The new game is called Phonopolis, and we don’t know a lot about it right now. We do know you’re going to be playing as a young boy in a city that’s been taken over by a totalitarian leader. And we also know you’re the only one who’s immune to the dehumanizing power of said leader.

We also know that the game is made of cardboard, which makes it look pretty darn amazing. Amanita has released a brief trailer, which we’re going to embed at the end of this paragraph so you can get a bit of a feel for what the game might be like when it launches.

Looks pretty darn good, right? As for when it’s going to land, we know it’ll be at least a year from now. But then, good things take time, right? And waiting will make us stronger and more patient people, or some such nonsense.

We’re also not entirely sure which platforms the game is going to launch on. We’re pretty confident it’s going to land on the App Store at some point, but we’ve been wrong before. Like, maybe once. Or twice.

What we do know is that as soon as we hear anything else about Phonopolis, we’ll be sure to let you know. Because that’s the sort of thing we do.
