Just Cause is Coming to Mobile Next Year

At last night’s Game Awards, Square Enix revealed that its slightly bonkers action series Just Cause is coming to mobile in 2021. Expect explosions, parachutes, more explosions and, if the trailer is anything to go by, an awful lot of surfing around on the top of vehicles. And then some more explosions.

The game looks set to transfer the third-person view of the main games to a more zoomed-out, isometric look. There’s going to be a campaign, co-op missions and a variety of different flavors of competitive multiplayer.

One of those flavors will be something like a battle royale, with three teams of ten shooting the poop out of each other to secure bases and score points on a massive map.

The co-op missions will let you team up with up to three other players to take on waves of enemies. So a horde mode. We ruddy love horde modes here at iFanzine, so that’s a big tick in the pros column.

Here’s the trailer we’ve been talking about. It’s definitely worth a watch.

Look at all those tanks! And mechs! And so many explosions! We’ve just used up our weekly quota of exclamation marks! From that brief glimpse it certainly looks like Just Cause: Mobile is going to capture the glorious chaos of the console and PC games.

Right now we don’t have a concrete release date, other than 2021. Which, in all fairness, isn’t all that far away. We do know that the game is going to be free to play, though. We’ll keep you updated as and when we hear more. In the meantime you can check out the Just Cause: Mobile website by clicking here.
