It Looks Like PS5 and XBOX Series X Controller Support is Coming to iOS

It looks like PS5 and Xbox Series X controller support might finally be coming to iOS. That’s according to MacRumors. The sitebhas spotted that there’s support for the new generation of controllers in the latest beta release of iOS 14.5.

It had looked like support for the PS5’s DualSense controllers was going to land in an earlier version of iOS 14, but that support was dropped when the update moved from beta into its actual release.

This is the first time that support for the Series X/S controller has been mooted. If the beta is to be believed though, you’ll be able to use your swanky new console’s buttons to play mobile games in the not-too-distant future.

It’s likely the update will also apply to tvOS 14.5, which will be launching at the same time as the update for iPhones and iPads.

Right now the iOS 14.5 beta is restricted to developers, but Apple should be moving into public beta pretty soon. That means you’ll be able to get your hands on it before it officially launches in the Spring.

We’ll keep you updated as and when PlayStation DualSense and Xbox Series S/X controller support is fully confirmed for iOS.
