EA are celebrating Halloween with their second annual “Very Scary Sale.” Titles such as PopCap’s fan-favorite Plants Vs. Zombies and Dead Space have had up to 80% slashed off their price-tags. For a full list of sale titles, check out EA’s Daily Deals site. Sunside Inc. are also throwing a Halloween sale, and have cut the price of Crow from $3.99 to an unmissable 99 cents! In other sales news, Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars is down from $9.99 to only 99¢ and Grand Theft Auto III from $4.99 to 99¢ — both games are available at these bargain prices to commemorate the 10 year anniversary of Grand Theft Auto: Vice City.
Rockstar have announced they’re marking Vice City’s aforementioned 10 year anniversary by releasing a new and improved edition of the classic open-world crime sim for iOS (and Android) devices very soon. Apparently, “the new versions will include unseen assets and artwork.” No solid release date as yet, but we’ll be sure to keep you posted.
N.Y.Zombies 2 may have just shuffled onto the App Store, but that doesn’t mean the folks at Foursaken Media are taking it easy. On the contrary in fact, they’re readying their next iOS game, Heroes & Castles, for release before the year’s end! “It brings back a lot of ideas and elements from Bug Heroes that made it awesome, while adding a ton of new stuff as well,” says Foursaken Media’s Jamie Jackson. “One of the things we wanted to do is really create a visceral, immersive feeling of being in a HUGE battle when playing Heroes & Castles, which I don’t think we’ve seen on iOS…” More at this link, and we’ll take a closer look at Heroes & Castles ourselves soon too.
More scary good news, this time from Not Doppler, who have given their immensely popular side-scrolling driving game, Earn to Die, a Halloween-themed upgrade. According to the press release: “The Halloween Update adds a new element to the mix – pumpkins, 190 of them! In the brand new Halloween Mode, players will not only be driving their way through hordes of zombies, but will also try to smash their way through pumpkins spread across the eight stages that players had previously unlocked in Story Mode.”
