Grimdark Strategy Game Warhammer 40,000: Mechanicus Coming to iPad in April

If you like your futures gothic and your marines spacey, we’ve got some good news for you. Warhammer 40,000: Mechanicus is coming to iPad in April. It’ll be a premium release and we’ve got all the info you need right here.

Actually you’re not playing as Space Marines in this one, you’re playing as members of the Adeptus Mechanicus, who are basically bonkers tech priests. You’ll be fighting against the Necrons, who are mad-as-a-box-of-robo-frogs aliens who’ve woken up after aeons of slumber and want to wipe out, well, everything. We’ve all felt that way after a nap.

The game offers some super deep and super chunky tactics and lets you tweak loads of different parts of your tech-enhanced soldiers. Like adding extra robo-arms that can fire lasers and bombs and other cool stuff. Probably.

The home versions of the game have got some pretty impressive reviews since it came out, so it’s great to see it making its way to mobile. You will only be able to play this one on iPad to start with though, probably to make sure things don’t get too fiddly.

Warhammer 40,000: Mechanicus looks like a great addition to the slate of Games Workshop games on the App Store – in fact, it looks like it might be the best of them yet. And it’s due to land on April 22nd, which isn’t actually that far away.

When it launches it’ll include the Heretek DLC that adds an extra five missions to the base game. We’ll be sure to remind you when the game comes out as well.
