Grand Theft Auto: Vice City

Grand Theft Auto: Vice City now supports iPhone X and iPad Pro

Rockstar has just updated Grand Theft Auto: Vice City with support for the latest iOS devices, including iPhone X and iPad Pro. It will now fill the screen on both of those devices, because no one likes nasty black bars. No one.

That brings the list of Rockstar games supporting the latest devices to three, with Max Payne and San Andreas getting updates within the past couple of months. We’re expecting the trend to continue, though Rockstar hasn’t announced any plans.

Vice City originally launched on the PlayStation 2 way back in 2002. It takes place in a fictional version of Miami, Florida, with you taking on the role of Tommy Vercetti following his release from prison.

Grand Theft Auto: Vice City is basically one big parody of the 80s

Over the course of the game, you’ll help Tommy build his own criminal empire while simultaneously seeking revenge on the folks that were responsible for putting him in prison in the first place.

That largely involves driving around the neon-splashed city, shooting bad guys, buying new flowery shirts, and listening to ridiculous 80s music.

The whole game is basically one big parody of the 80s, referencing and cracking fun at biker gangs, the crack epidemic, the mafiosa, and glam metal. It also references films like Scarface and Miami Vice, so if you love that era you’ll get a right kick out of the experience.

You can grab Grand Theft Auto: Vice City right now on the App Store. It’s also included in the Rockstar Games Collection bundle.
