Here’s a little more info about each and every title in the swag bag this week:
Lock ‘n’ Load: Chillingo and GameLab (the team behind Pirate’s Treasure) are back with Lock ‘n’ Load, a twin-stick shooter that will blow genre fans away! From an enthralling story-based mode and a lengthy unlockable bonus campaign to challenge maps and oodles of different enemy types to overcome, Lock ‘n’ Load most definitely lives up to its claim of having “more gameplay than you can shake a boomstick at!”
Towers: We hadincredible fun with this Michael Yatskar/Lightworx collab, finding that it put a fresh spin on the Bullet Hell game style. Thanks to the dev we’ve got three copies on hand, and whether you’re a bullet dodging veteran or just a casual action fan, you’ll be lucky to come away with such an indie gem. Check out our interview with the devwhile you wait for this week’s drawing!
On the Wind: We reviewed Don’t Step on the Cracks’ debut auto-scroller on release and found it to be “a nice change of pace from the typical genre fare” which boasts “sky-high challenge and decisively relaxing presentation.” Check out our full reviewhere. Again, we’ve got a lengthy interview with the dev that’s well worth giving a read (in between repeatedly mashing the tweet button on this post, of course!)
Kick the Buddy: Second Kick: Kinda like the digital equivalent of a stress ball, Kick the Buddy: Second Kick lets players blow off steam by beating the stuffing out of a ragdoll with a virtually limitless arsenal: rockets, grenades, automatic rifles, torture instruments… and even a nuclear bomb! iOS gamers are evidently getting a real kick out of this one as it’s soaring up the paid charts at present.
Oh, and because they’re awesome, the folks at Crustalli have also given us a copy of their previous hit,Parking Lot, to give away. Sweet!
