‘Game of Thrones: A Telltale Series’ Finale Gets a Release Date

Despite being a huge fan of HBO’s Game of Thrones and its source material, George RR Martin’s A Song of Ice and Fire novels, I’ve somehow managed to fall way behind on Game of Thrones: A Telltale Series. Now’s probably a good time for me to get down to some serious binge-playing and catch up, since Telltale has just announced a release date for the episodic game series’ eagerly-awaited finale, Chapter 6: ‘The Ice Dragon.’

According to the press release we received from Telltale, the final installment of their GoT saga is slated for a simultaneous worldwide release across all major platforms — including iOS and Android — on November 17th, 2015. Mark your calendars, folks, because this finale sounds like it’s going to be all kinds of awesome…

“The epic conclusion to the season is the most ambitious and diversely presented episode we’ve ever produced,” said Kevin Bruner, CEO and Co-Founder of Telltale Games. “The fate of House Forrester has been in the hands of players all season long, and the finale will be tailored to provide a uniquely harrowing conclusion for each and every player based on the decisions they’ve made in the game thus far.”

With Chapter 6’s release date a matter of weeks away, Telltale has posted a new featurette to their YouTube channel which sees a bunch of the TV show’s cast members raving about how much they love the game. You can check it out above, though spoilerphobes should be aware that it features a few brief snippets of footage from later episodes of the game.

If you haven’t yet gotten stuck into Game of Thrones: A Telltale Series — and Emilia Clarke, Natalie Dormer & Co. convinced you to give it a shot — the good news is that the critically-acclaimed premiere episode, ‘Iron From Ice,’ is now free to download. The game normally costs $4.99 on iOS, so this is a really great deal for newcomers to the series.
