My, the folks at Flightless have been mighty busy lately! The New Zealand based indie studio dropped iFanzine a line today to let us know they’ve updated the critically lauded Bee Leader (Out Now, $2.99) with extra features and a whole new world. In other buzz-worthy news, a free version of the game has also just landed on the App Store.
For me, the highlight of Bee Leader v1.2 is without a doubt the new world — entitled London Fun — which comes packing three levels set in the Big Smoke and, of course, arrives just in time to “commemorate the 3-week anniversary of the London Olympics finishing.” Other new additions to Bee Leader include a bonus level based on the game’s acclaimed trailer and improved support for Zell Applications’ Joypad app.
If you haven’t yet given Bee Leader a whirl, the newly released free version (App Store Link) sounds like it’s well worth picking up: “Now people who don’t want to part with their precious 99 cents initially can experience taking Bee Leader for a fly for free! The new free version of our much-loved game allows peeps to play the Trailer Park level for free! If they like it then they are most welcome to buy additional levels in their own time via in-app purchase.
The Trailer Park level was created for our Official Trailer video (see below). The feedback from people who loved the trailer was great, so we thought it would be nice to include it in the game as an actual playable level. Additionally, it’s a nice way to introduce first-time players to the themes and goals of the game.”
