Fallout Shelter Online is Coming to iOS – Here’s What You Need to Know

Remember Fallout Shelter, the super addictive midcore management sim set in the nuclear wasteland of the smash hit PC and console series? Well there’s a sort-of sequel on the way in the shape of Fallout Shelter Online.

Why are we calling it a sort-of sequel? Because essentially it’s a retweak of the Chinese version of Fallout Shelter which has been out for a while in the east. There’s some new stuff in the game that’s definitely going to appeal to vault-heads out there though.

For one thing, there’s a new gacha system, which sees you collecting characters from the series and building teams out of them. Much like in the original, these heroes and villains will form bonds in the vault, and getting them working together is going to be the key to post-apocalyptic success.

There’s a meatier story mode as well that will see you visiting famous, and infamous, locations as you play. There’ll be plenty of enemies to scrap with as well, and you’ll need to make sure you’ve got plenty of levelled up heroes because different characters have different strengths and weaknesses.

You can check out more about the game in the first-look video we’ve embedded below. It should give you a better idea of what to expect from Fallout Shelter Online when it lands later in the year.

As for a specific release date, things are still a bit up in the air. According to a listing on the Phillipine App Store, it could be coming as early as April 22nd.

We will, of course, keep you up to date as and when we hear more. Are you excited for Fallout Shelter Online? Did you rinse those mechanics enough the first time round? Let us know in the comments section below.
