Everything You Need to Know About the Changes Coming to Pokemon Go in April 2020

While we’re all in various stages of lockdown for the coronavirus epidemic, Niantic has revealed some changes to Pokemon Go. They’re going to be hitting the location-based game next month. Just because you’re stuck inside doesn’t mean you’re going to have to stop catching ’em all.

For one thing, Adventure Sync is going to be tracking in-house activities as well. Niantic is also promising that the game is going to get better at recognising when you’re moving inside as well. One possible change coming to the game will see you virtually visiting real-world places and reliving the Pokemon Go adventures you had while you were there.

There’s new stuff coming as well. From the start of April you’ll be able to rescue Shadow Enteir from Giovanni. There won’t be any new Team Go Rocket Special Research but you’ve now got to the end of April to finish The Shadowy Threat Grows.

On top of that, the Alolan Exeggutor will be available as a Research Breakthrough encounter. That runs from April 1st to May 1st and you’ll get extra stardust from the encounter too.

Last but not least, April will see the continuation of the Pokemon Spotlight Hour and the Mystery Bonus Hour.

All of this is set to go live on Pokemon Go tomorrow. If you’ve been neglecting your Pokedek because of the lockdown, it’s the perfect time to jump back into the game.
