If you’re looking to let off a little steam by tactically kicking some folks in the teeth, then you’re in luck this week. That’s because Cobra Kai: Card Fighter has just landed on the App Store, and it’s get plenty of tactics and plenty of teeth kicking.
The game sees you duking it out in turn-based karate match-ups. You’ve got a deck of cards that represent your kicks, punches and throws. And it’s up to you to take your opponent’s health bar down to zero before they do the same to you.
You’ve also got wildcards, which can give you boosts and buffs when you need them most. It’s a pretty smart system – cards cost energy to play, so you need to think carefully about when to unleash your most powerful whomps and smacks.
The story of the game follows roughly the story of the TV show, and you can collect different fighters from the two different dojos. For a game based on a TV show spin-off of a series of movies, Cobra Kai: Card Fighter is actually surprisingly deep. You need to think carefully about how to take down your opponent, or you’re going to end up with a face full of fist.
