Climbing Puzzler Crux: The Great Outdoors Out Now

The original Crux was a brilliant mix of puzzling and dexterity that saw you picking your path up and down a series of climbing walls. This sequel takes the action outdoors, placing you amidst rocky peaks and icy wastes as you clamber along.

The controls let you control your arms and legs independently, swiping to move them to various holds. You can only hang for so long though, so you need to pick your path and figure out how to conquer the climbs that are spread across 60+ different levels.

There’s a zen mode as well that’s just about you and the wall. The game looks lovely too, and the animation is spot on. You can check out the trailer we’ve embedded below to get an idea of how the game plays.

Each of the climbs has a highscore that you can try and beat – that involves getting to the top in the fewest moves. Or you can just climb for fun, drinking in the gorgeous backdrops of distant seas and lovely trees.

If you’d like to give Crux: The Great Outdoors a go, you can click here to download it from the App Store right this second. It’s a premium game and it’ll set you back $3.99 to give it a go. We reckon that’s a more than fair price.
