Catopia: Rush Soft-Launches in 150 Countries Ahead of Global Release in June, Check Out the Latest Trailer

Catopia: Rush is one of the most eagerly anticipated games of 2021, and it’s out right now in soft-launch.

At least, it’s out right now if you happen to live in one of the 150 fortunate soft-launch regions, covering ten languages. Otherwise you’ll have to wait a bit longer for the global release on June the 2nd.

Developed by California studio Supercolony, Catopia: Rush is a colorful, humorous take on the action-RPG genre with a couple of highly inventive gameplay twists and a gigantic dose of charm.

The campaign sees you making your way through a series of stages, clearing them of evil minions and dastardly bosses. The twist is that you don’t do your own fighting. Instead, your Hero Cat attacks enemies automatically whenever he comes to a stop, leaving you to concentrate on evasive maneuvers.

In other words, don’t be fooled by the superficial resemblance to Cat Quest. Catopia: Rush is a much more innovative beast, playing like a bullet-hell/RPG mashup with a dash of MOBA and a sprinkling of Archero.

Catopia: Rush has already had one open beta, which resulted in a number of significant gameplay tweaks.

If you were among the 29,000+ players to take part in that beta, you’ll be pleased to learn that teams now consist of a Hero Cat and three Ally Cats of varying archetypes, including Tank, Support, Mage, and Warrior.

In addition, Hero Cats now have new special moves, the scoring system has been overhauled, stages are replayable for Perfect Bonuses, daily challenges have been introduced, and more.

Catopia: Rush will be available globally in less than a month and a half. While you’re waiting for the day to come, you can pass the time by watching the brand new trailer above and the fun meme-based song that Supercolony dreamed up earlier this month.

There’s even a Catopia: Rush webcomic, available for free on Tapas and Webtoons, and you can follow the game on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Discord, and the official Catopia: Rush website

Chances are, you can also play the soft-launch version right now.
