Indie studio Red Wasp Design have just released an all-new free version of their H.P. Lovecraft-inspired turn-based strategy RPG, Call of Cthulhu: The Wasted Land, which “allows players to dip their toe into the pool of insanity” before deciding whether or not to splash out on the full version (which will set you back $4.99).
The game’s designer, Tomas Rawlings, is quoted as saying, “We wanted to give players who might be interested in either the game or the concepts a chance to try out the title before they commit their hard earned cash to it. With the free version they can try the game out first and then if they like what they see, we’d hope they buy the full version.”
While we weren’t exactly blown away by Call of Cthulhu: The Wasted Land when we reviewed it back in February of this year, it’s worth noting that the game has received numerous updates since then. (Check out the review post itself for addendums). Anyhoo, the free version is probably well worth giving a whirl if you’re partial to Lovecraftian horror and/or gripping turn-based strategy games.
