Butterscotch Shenanigans Has Revealed The Release Date For Community Platformer Levelhead

Butterscotch Shenanigans has revealed that its platforming make-’em-up Levelhead is set to land on iOS on April 30th. It’s fair to say that we’re really excited about the game, and not just because it comes from one of the best developers to have ever graced the pages of the App Store.

Not heard of Butterscotch Shenanigans before? Well its last game was the amazing Crashlands, a massive, open-world RPG that worked so well on mobile that it made a lot of other games feel like wading through mud. Honestly, if you haven’t played it yet you should rectify that fact as soon as possible

Get On The Same Level

Where Crashlands was all about exploration and crafting, Levelhead takes a different approach. It’s a game all about building your own levels and then sharing them with other players. Think Mario Maker but in the palm of your hand, and built from the ground up with mobile in mind.

That’s not to say the game isn’t going to work on other platforms. In fact, its April 30th launch will see it coming out simultaneously on iOS, Android, Nintendo Switch, The Epic Store, Steam and Xbox.

The cool thing is that any levels you make on any of those platforms can be accessed on the others. It’s all thanks to what Butterscotch Shenanigans is calling its CROSSPLATFORMINESSâ„¢ feature. You can find out more about the game by checking out the trailer we’ve embedded below. We’d recommend putting the sound on too, because there’s plenty of laughs to be had.

Of course, games like this live and die on their community of makers, but fret not, because Levelhead has been in soft-launch for the best part of a year, so there’s already plenty of content for you to sink your teeth and your fingers into.

Levelhead is shaping up to be one of the most exciting mobile games of 2020, and we’ll all be able to find out just how good it is on April 30th. Are you excited to play Levelhead? Have you already had a go at the soft-launched version? Let us know in the comments below.
