Away: Journey to the Unexpected is one of those games that makes you sit up and take notice. Not only does it look amazing – blending chunky 3D with awesome 2D characters – it’s also got a few tricks up its sleeve. And it’s those tricks that are going to make you fall in love with it.
For one thing, it’s all about making friends. The characters you meet on your journey will join your quest, adding their own strengths to yours. The more friends you make, the more powerful you’re going to become.
You’re just a kid with a stick to start with, but soon you’ll be able to play as a magical tree, a short-sighted wizard and more. The game also features a super-hyperactive soundtrack and plenty of jokes too. There’s roguelite elements thrown into the mix as well, so things aren’t going to get stale.
We think you’ll agree the trailer makes the game seem super interesting. It’s flashy, full of heart and looks like it’s going to have you on the edge of your seat. Those are three things we’re always looking for in mobile games, and Away has them in spades.
