Ashworld, from Orange Pixel, is a game that wears its influences on its sleeve. Or it would do, if its sleeves hadn’t been ripped off to show off its muscular, near-future arms. It’s all about survival and slaughter and you can pick it up for cheap right now.

The game sees you trying to survive in a post-apocalyptic, procedurally generated wasteland. You need food and water, and they’re rare enough that you’re going to have to fight for them.

You can drive around the waste, or head out on foot. Either way you’re going to be exploring the ruins of the old world, trying to find the things you need to keep alive for another day.

Alongside the murdering, there’s a day / night cycle that changes the enemies you’re going to be facing. Expect loads of story and side missions, as well as a bunch of material finding and crafting. All the good stuff.

Click here and you can grab Ashworld from the App Store right now. The game is currently on sale for just $1.99. Usually it’d set you back $3.99, so you’re saving yourself a couple of bucks. That’s a pretty damn good deal.
