For our latest interview, we chatted up a storm with Brjánn Sigurgeirsson, CEO of Image & Form! It's a dramatic and insightful mega article, and while you're reading the conclusion on the third page, won't you be a dear and log into Twitter? There could be a free copy of "Anthill" in it for you!
We'd rather play this game than eat Jell-O -- and that's not a statement we make lightly! If you're a fan of Tower Defense, Castle Defense, or Real-Time Strategy games in general, Jelly Defense is a clear must-have. Even if you don't consider yourself a genre fan but have a strong appreciation for challenges of logic, this is one worth taking a chance on if you've got the bucks and the time to invest in it.
Move over robot unicorns, there's another endless genre in town! Clueless Ideas is hoping "Magic Defenders" will reel in Castle Defense fans for some infinite high score competition, and it's very well designed for the job. But how long can something really last when it's billed as being "endless?"
If you're a seasoned Castle Defense fan and aren't too picky about the textual quality or depth of help menus and live tutorials, you might find "Empire War" surprisingly engaging. Challenge seekers, get ready to fight for...well, actually, we have no clue what you're fighting for here, but since when has that ever stopped anyone from picking up a sword?
It had to happen eventually. So many iOS developers are riding the Castle Defense wave these days, and new ideas are running so short, that a group of combat-trained and magic-wielding civilians has arisen to defend - get this - the golden chicken that they worship. To be fair, the chicken used to be a goddess before an ill encounter with a divine rival, and Castle Defense fans are liable to have a blast becoming "Defender of Diosa" if they stick with it past the first few battles.
Well, it beggars belief, but App Store newcomers Crazy Bit take two of iOS' most hackneyed genres - the zombie game (groan) and 2D Tower Defense (double-groan) respectively - schmoosh 'em together, and, against all odds, still trot out one of the most addictive, visually unique and fantastically entertaining titles I've had the pleasure of playing all month.
