An engaging approach to challenge and a slick two-mode take on the genre make "Frantic Flight" well worth a buck if you haven't completely tired of running games yet.
"Gears of Fur" succeeds in bringing something new to platformers with its gear friction mechanics, but lackluster enemies and a relatively traditional first half take some of the punch out of the cool concept.
Consider "Beyond Dead" a work that's still very much in progress. Even at this early stage, it's clear that there's lots of "Metroid"-style goodness to look forward to once it's fleshed out and gets some interface refining.
Just over a week from now you'll be singing along to "Go go, go go Go-rill-a" and you won't even be embarrassed, because that's how absurdly cool this game is.
"Terra Noctis" stands head and shoulders with "Shantae: Risky's Revenge" as a title that captures the very best of what sprite-filled 2D action adventures have to offer. While a few design quirks may have even genre fans scratching their heads, this is one you'll easily lose yourself in as long as you don't have a complete aversion to the word "platforming."
