‘Space Marshals’ Goes Free for the First Time Ever

Space Marshals is a game I’ve been meaning to buy for aaaaages, but never actually got around to picking up. It looks like my dithering has paid off though, because Pixelbite just dropped its price from $4.99 to free for the first time ever. Which is a deal so good, I almost feel guilty taking advantage of it. Almost.

For anyone who hasn’t heard of it before, Space Marshals is a top-down twin-stick shooter that separates itself from the herd with a cool “Sci-fi Wild West” motif and an emphasis on stealth and tactical gameplay over guns-blazing action. In addition to all that good stuff, it also boasts cutting-edge features like Metal-enhanced graphics, iCloud game saving and full MFi controller support.

There’s no word from Pixelbite on a reason for Space Marshals going free, but the folks over at Touch Arcade reckon the price drop could be in preparation for Apple’s latest “Free Game of the Week” promotion, and I’m inclined to agree. After all, Apple are on a serious roll lately when it comes to using discounts to highlight awesome premium games.
