Slick Entertainment just dropped us a line to announce a surprise update for their highly acclaimed side-scrolling shooter Shellrazer (our review). I say “surprise” since Shellrazer was originally released all the way back in the summer of 2012, and hasn’t received a major content expansion in quite a while. Still, I’ve got a lot of fond memories of this game, and it’s great to see the developers continuing to support it after all this time, so I’m psyched to find out what the new update has in store for us.
I won’t have to wait that long to give it a play either. The update — which goes by the name of Shellrazer Bugzkrieg — is due to stomp onto the App Store this Thursday, February 27th.
So what can Shellrazer fans expect from Bugzkrieg? Well, according to the press release we received from Slick Entertainment, the new content will “pit the Shellrazer turtle and his Champions against a continent of mutated bugs equipped with stolen alien technology.” It features over 30 new enemies to fight, a new champion, and last, but by no means least, the arrival of the ‘Bloop Singularity Cannon’: a devastating weapon which destroys all but the strongest enemies with a miniature black hole!
