News Roundup: ‘Monument Valley’-Inspired Sneakers, More

Welcome to iFanzine’s new Weekly News Roundup, where we take a quick look at the most interesting Apple and iOS gaming-related stories of the week. Today’s installment includes: news about a possible sequel to Into the Dead, an astoundingly beautiful pair of Monument Valley 2-themed sneakers, an upcoming TV game show based on one of the biggest mobile games ever, and more!

PikPok Are Teasing… Something

Earlier this week, PikPok launched a mysterious teaser site and posted the cryptic tweet you see above, leading to fan speculation that they’re getting ready to announce a sequel to their zombie-filled endless runner Into the DeadAre the fans right? Time will tell. But a new Into the Dead game does seem like a no-brainer since the original was such a huge hit for PikPok (it’s been downloaded a staggering 70 million times to date).

‘Monument Valley’ Sneakers Are Now a Thing

Unfortunately for any sneakerheads/Monument Valley superfans who want to own the stylish kicks shown above, they’re a total one-off and aren’t available to buy anywhere. The only pair of these Air Force 1s in existence were uniquely customized and hand painted by graphic artist Jon Gray (of Fatnek Clothing) to display at Monument Valley 2’s recent launch party in London.

There’s a ‘Words With Friends’ TV Show on the Way

Zynga has partnered up with MGM to develop a new primetime TV show based on Words With Friends, the immensely popular Scrabble-esque word puzzler that everyone and their mother has been hooked on for the past 8 years. This news comes hot on the heels of Candy Crush game show hitting the airwaves, so it looks like mobile games getting turned into TV shows is a trend now. Any guesses as to what the next one to be adapted will be?
