Hot Damn! ‘Hyperburner’ Is Free for the First Time Ever!

Here’s a deal so hot that I simply couldn’t wait until this weekend’s sales roundup to tell you guys about it! Patrick Cook and Bad Potion’s exhilarating arcade flight sim Hyperburner has just dropped in price from $2.99 to an unmissable $0.00. There’s no official word on a reason for the price drop, but if I had to guess I’d say Apple will probably announce the game as their ‘Free App of the Week’ tomorrow.

For those of you who might not have heard of Hyperburner before, it’s a seriously cool game that sees you piloting a spacecraft through a series of topsy-turvy intergalactic obstacle courses. I downloaded it a few weeks back and instantly fell in love with its white-knuckle gameplay, dizzying and devious level design, and eye-popping visuals. It’s such a fun time, in fact, that I’m not even mad that it’s gone free so soon after I paid full price for it.

Hyperburner generated plenty of hype and positive reviews from critics when it initially hit the App Store, with Pocket Gamer saying: “everything about it hums with the sort of quality that makes every second you spend with the game a joy,” and Touch Arcade exclaiming: “it really nails the feeling of being in control of an escaping spaceship in a sci-fi movie.” Hit the link below to take the game for a spin yourself.
