Abducted, Sunside Inc.’s follow-up to Crow (our review), is one of our most anticipated upcoming releases here at iFanzine, so we’ve been keeping a watchful eye on the indie studio’s YouTube channel as their ambitious sci-fi adventure game edges closer to its iOS launch in August. And over the past few weeks we’ve been dutifully rewarded with a series of videos focusing on different aspects of Abducted, such as how a computer embedded into the main character’s arm will be utilized during the game’s puzzle segments.

The latest footage (which you can check out below) is probably the most action-packed Sunside have shown off to date. It centers around the game’s titular abductee as she makes her way through a cavernous alien landscape, fending off the snapping maws of giant tenticular creatures by manipulating environmental objects, and zapping at gross, slithering thingies with her hand cannon.

Here’s the official synopsis:

1000437_595026543870672_508956341_nAbducted is a game in which you play an ordinary person thrust into extraordinary circumstances. Abducted by aliens and taken thousands of light years from home, you have one ultimate goal: Escape. But you have so many unanswered questions… How did you get here? What is this place? Who took you and why?

Abducted is an action, adventure, mystery, horror game with a focus on a deep storyline, immersive gameplay and a mixture of classic adventure game and RPG-lite mechanics. While all these elements may seem familiar they are mixed with intense visceral combat, horrific death, and environmental puzzles, making Abducted a truly unique experience.

ETA: Episode 1 of Abducted is set to land on iOS and Android devices in August. In the meantime, be sure to check out Sunside’s official site and Facebook page for more details.
